Library

Padua Civic Library is a study, research and conservation library. Its aim is to increase and value its traditional heritage, pre-eminently based on humanities, with a particular interest on subjects such as history, art and literature, signally local. The library takes care of updating its special collections: the Paduan, the Dantesque and the Petrarchan collections.

The Library has a rich ‘open bookcase’ with material concerning contemporary culture, debates on topics and problems of the present age, information society, spread of science, training and citizens’ rights.

It is also provided with a History section where it is possible to consult antique, rare and precious material.

The Civic Library is located on the second floor of Altinate/San Gaetano Centre.
It is open to the public from Monday to Saturday.
